Affiliate Marketing Guide - Affilate Marketing Tips
61Affiliate Marketing Guide
In this affiliate marketing guide you’re going to learn the basic principles behind earning money online by referring other people’s products. If you adhere to the following affiliate marketing tips, and avoid the affiliate marketing myths, you stand a good chance of being successful with internet affiliate marketing.
Before you jump into it, I have to stress, DO NOT PUT THE CART BEFORE THE HORSE. This simply means that you don’t want to go join and promote every affiliate product you can find. Build a self hosted blog and work on getting traffic because without traffic you earn nothing. Yes, you can promote affiliate products right here on hubpages.com but with your own niche specific site you’ll be attracting visitors that are ready to purchase. Hubpages.com and similar sites are great for pre-selling an idea but your own site gives you credibility and a sense of authority.
Affiliate Marketing Tips
Always remember who your readers are. Keep your affiliate links relevant to the material your audience expects from your blog posts. Only link to products and accessories that are related to your blog posts.
Your visitors find your site through search engines and other linking methods because they are searching for specific information. If you keep your niche specific you have a better chance at selling to your visitors.
Be genuine with your recommendations. Only promote products that you trust to be quality products that your readers will value. You gain credibility if you personally endorse products that you have used or have first hand knowledge about.
Use contextual links. If you refer to a product that you want to promote in another post, create a contextual link to another post that reviews that product specifically. When you create your contextual links, think about how Adsense ads are formatted. They give the reader a few selling points that solve a problem. Do the same with your links inside your posts to get the best results.
Be transparent. Let your reader know that the link will take them to the place where they can purchase the product. You have a much better chance a earning a commission if the person clicks on a link knowing upfront rather than clicking on the link to find a sales page. The whole point of the affiliate link is to pre-sell the reader on a particular product.
Know where to promote and where not to promote. Promote your links everywhere you can think of, so long as it is acceptable. Put your links in your signatures on forum posts and in your author resource box on articles you write. Review your products on top sites such as hubpages.com and squidoo.com as well as other revenue sharing sites. Write posts and share them on all of your social networks.
Don’t SPAM. Only send out your offers through your opt-in email lists. You can read more about list building here and then go to Aweber and get started with a FREE trial offer.
Track your programs. By tracking and analyzing performance you can optimize your efforts and maximize your earnings. Why waste time or money on a method that is underperforming?
Pay Per Click Marketing
As a beginning affiliate marketer you’re going to have to rely heavily on free SEO methods to earn you commissions. Most successful affiliate marketers use pay-per-click (PPC) advertising to generate traffic. By far and large, Google is the King when it comes to PPC. I avoided Adwords for many years because I thought I could do it all on my own, but the reality is, getting traffic to your site is one thing getting the traffic to convert is something totally different.
One day, I was searching for advice on Adwords and I came across Brad Callen’s Affiliate Elite. It only costs $4.95 for a 30 day trial membership and it has an 8 week FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. I tried it out and followed his advice and made more money in the first week with Adwords than I did in the first 3 months here at Hubpages.com. The best part is, most of my Adwords program was funded with free credits that I received from my web host. Brad Callen’s Affiliate Elite program coaches you how to earn affiliate commissions by promoting other people’s products and in some of his methods you don’t even need your own website. $5 is not much to gamble on and my last affiliate marketing tip is to give Brad Callen’s Affiliate Elite a try.

That's interesting, concise, clear, with a lot of information. Rated up and bookmarked.
I have never heard before about Brad Callen’s Affiliate Elite program, but since you recommend it I might take a look.
Interesting Hub. We need to do some more research on Affiliate Marketing.
This is very helpful. As a novice, I can see that we have to look outside of the box for success. Thanks for the tips.. very helpful x
Hi... Its me again.. ive logged in! x
Great advice and as usual right over my stupid blonde head. One of these days, I'm going to 'get it' but I have a feeling it is not in the foreseeable future. I need to give up sleeping and then maybe I'd have time to read all the wonderful information that you and others provide - do you think if I printed the hubs off and slept with them under my pillow, that would do it? Great job as always - I just wish I could absorb it all.
Excellent, clear message, Richard! You have a wonderful way of making the complex easy to understand and apply. I'm just now feeling ready to get into affiliate marketing following your hub on Amazon store which I have implemented. As you said, traffic is the key - and that's still a stumbling block for me at this point though I seem to be doing everything the right way.
Brad Cullen's program - $4.95 but then there's $43.93 (or something like that) in monthly payments after that - am I looking at the right page?
I read and I read - it is just that is not all sticking but eventually it will...I hope - or I will get (more) senile and I guess it won't matter, eh? Thanks for the encouragement and will keep on reading!! You have such great info - it is just that I need to put a very high cap on to prevent it from shooting over my little blonde head!
In the beginning, it's hard to buy the product that we wanna sell since I don't have that much money (I live in Indonesia which doesn't use Dollars currency. So the best I can do is just review its sales letter then make a review about that topic.
Yea reviewing things is awesome, also if you're making reviews make sure you put something like "Don't buy (insert product here) before reading this." This will catch people's attention. Check out my hub I have a lot of Affiliate Tips on there if you guys need help too.
