Crayola has done it again.  The King of kid fun has developed a paint set for young boys and girls that is truly visionary.  It’s called the Color Wonder Magic Light Brush and it’s recommended for children ages 5 and up.  What makes this product visionary is the fact that the paints come in a clear gel.  The colors only appear when applied to the Color Wonder Paper and when the special light up brush is dipped into the paints.  The brush actually lights up the color that is being used.

Crayola claims this product is “mess free.”  The paints will not show up on carpet, floors, tables, clothes, skin, etc.  They will only appear on the specially coated paper that comes with the kit.  It takes a couple seconds of being on the paper before the color reveals itself making it a magical moment for any youngster.

The claim of this being “mess free” is true to a point but there are some rules that you must follow.  It’s true, the paint will not show up anywhere except on the special Wonder Paper, however you must clean the brush off before dipping it into the next paint each time, just like with normal paints.  Also, if you have ever let your young child paint before, then you know there is a fascination with dipping their fingers into the paint.  Same thing is true with this set so you’ll be cleaning of their fingers too, even though no color will appear the gel can still get sticky. 

When you receive your kit, the box will contain the Light-up brush unit which needs 3 AA batteries, 6 primary Color Wonder paint colors, and a 30 page Color Wonder paper tablet.  Additional colored paints can be purchased separately as well as additional Color Wonder paper tablets.
