Getting Started with Adobe Flash Animation
What is Flash?
In 2005, Macromedia Flash was relabeled Adobe Flash because Adobe Software purchased Macromedia Software. Mostly, just referred to as flash, this incredibly versatile language has added a unique flavor to the otherwise dull HTML page. Flash is a vector based animation written in special files called .swf and compiled together to form “flash movies.”
Flash movies or flash animations can be seen all over the internet and are very useful as a tool for advertisement. Flash advertisements can grab the viewers attention and when created by experienced Flash developers, they can become a huge selling force for any campaign.
There are dozens of highly unique uses for flash animation. Many developers use flash animation to create games, cartoons and videos. As a matter of fact, flash has spawned an entire culture of online users who are solely responsible for the development of Flash only sites. A small but good example can be found by CLICKING HERE! Pay attention to the banners.

Make Money With Flash
Within any culture or subculture there will always be a calling for creativity. And this creativity translates to jobs. Flash developers are in huge demand and the ability to be part of this demand is in reach of anyone with the skills to develop Flash. There are also opportunities for those who can make the simplest of animations.
It’s easy to get started with Flash. I would first recommend purchasing a book that is capable of demonstrating the various uses and techniques and one that will familiarize you with the necessary terminology to keep things in perspective.
I would download a trial version of Adobe Flash CS4 http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ so you can get a feel for the program. Next, I would take a look at the free video tutorials on Youtube. Put those tutorials to use with your trial version. If you feel that Adobe Flash is for you then your next step would be to purchase your full version of CS4 or an earlier edition and start creating a portfolio.
